Like the viewfinder we reviewed in the Canon EOS R, camera also comes with an electronic view finder – meaning that you’re just essentially looking at a small screen and not through a piece of glass to the outside world. The Canon Powershot G5X Mk II, as its name suggests, is the second iteration of their G series “compact cameras” that is small in size, but packs most of the features a DSLR or a mirrorless would have. Was it a futile exercise in paddling or does Canon have some surprises in it for us? Let’s find out. When Canon offered to loan the Powershot for review, I said “Sure why not” thinking that there surely must be something worth checking out if Canon is still paddling on a sinking ship right?
